X-Files Universe turns two years old this month!

At a time when FOX seems to wonder if there is a fanbase big enough to support a movie, XFiles Universe shows that the fanbase is strong.  The site has 450+ members from all over the world, and averages hundreds of guests each day.  This March, over 200 XFU members and guests were gathered on the site at one time.  Forum members range from long-time fans to those who discovered the series through online viewing from sites such as Netflix.  Indeed, the site regularly sees members who are seeing the show for the first time and are seeking input on the mythology or to indulge in their newfound obsession for the show.

XFU has participated in charitable events, hosted a weekly ReWatch party that met in the chatroom to watch all of XFiles in sequence, and hosted two fanfic competitions and one fan video competition.

There are almost 2,000 topics on the site.  Members can post to a growing wiki of archival material, contribute discussion on episodes, add to the fanbase of the stars, play games, or post to non-XFiles related content.

X-Files Universe is pleased to announce the judges’ unanimous decision for winner of the “Ultimate Fanfic” Award.

Congratulations to Margeaux Seymour (pen name Elizabeth M. Hazlett) for “umop apisdn”!

“Umop apisdn” is the story of a string of strange murders across New England, leading Mulder and Scully to Virginia.  What they find, or lack there of, makes this X-file investigation have more questions than answers.

The story takes place between season 4 and 6.  It is a delightful casefile sure to keep readers riveted, with a little romance thrown in.

All of the 2011 XFU  Fanfic Contest winners are featured in the archive, as well as other stories.  We would like to once again thank the many writers who entered stories for the contest, and encourage writers to begin now for our contest next summer!

The announcement of winning fanfiction submission continues!  XFiles Universe is pleased to announce the winner of “Most Original Fanfic”.  To win this prize, the fanfic had to present original content, with a new or unknown storyline.

Judges chose this submission for the content, which presented a different focus than any of the other submissions.  The main characters are Kim Cook and Walter Skinner.

And the winner is — Billie Reid for “A Challenging Life”!

Self-rated PG-13 for minor violence, the story takes places in an alternate universe.  It asks the question, when shocking events happen, can Kim and Walter overcome them?

X-Files Universe is pleased to announce another winner in the 2011 XFU Fanfiction Contest!

In the category, “Ultimate Character Representation,” the winner is…

Valerie, aka Kyouryoku Senshi for “I’m Here”!

“I’m Here” takes place at the beginning of Empedocles and runs throughout Existence.  Valerie feels that her story fills in the important details. The story stars all the characters you know and love – Mulder, Scully, Doggett, and Reyes.

And stay tuned: we will be announcing two more winners!

The annual X-Files Universe Fanfiction Contest concluded the submission period on September 1, and we would like to thank the many writers who submitted fanfic entries.  The judges have enjoyed reading the submissions, and have had a difficult time deciding winners.

X-Files Universe is proud to announce the winner for the category “The Most Likely to Be a Chris Carter Episode”.   Judges viewed this category by thinking, “Could Chris Carter have written something like this? ”

And the winner is… Suzanne Feld for “Hidden.”    Suzanne wins a copy of the script for The X-Files Pilot episode.

“Hidden” is a casefile, written in an alternate universe where Scully’s pregnancy and Mulder’s abduction never occurred.  Self-rated as PG-13,  the story features Mulder & Scully working on the mystery of who or what killed a society matron who moonlighted as a bag lady, even as they’re still adjusting to their new relationship.

Part AU, part romance, part casefile, you are sure to enjoy this delightful story. Click on the link to read! http://xfilesuniverse.com/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=164
