At the Emerald City Comic Con, the creative team for the new X-Files comic book series from IDW were revealed, and this looks promising!

Best of all, Chris Carter is executive producer of the series!  Joe Harris is the writer, and happens to be a long-time fan of the show.  Michael Walsh is the illustrator, and this artwork looks fabulous! Mulder and Scully look gorgeous!

The storyline starts after I Want to Believe

Today at www.teefury.com, this beautiful Scully t-shirt is featured for only $10!  Yes, $10!

This black t-shirt shows Scully sitting on a UFO with the words, “I Want to Believe” blazoned across it.  She is dressed in a gray form-fitting suit and holding her gun.  And yes, she has good hair!

Go today and buy a shirt!  This is yet another small way to show the world that the X-Files fandom is alive and well.

Now we need Mulder!  And the Lone Gunmen!  And Skinner!  And maybe a clincher pose with Scully and Mulder.  And…

Winners of the annual XFiles Universe Fanfic Contest are selected!

The Ultimate Fanfic Winner is “Pyrexia”, written by philefic. This story is a riveting casefile featuring Mulder and Scully. Summary: Skinner sends Mulder and Scully to Dallas to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding his step-father’s death when a febrile dream that his sister had reveals there is more to what is documented in the coroner’s report. Mulder and Scully have been on top of their game in their investigations into the X-Files and in their personal relationship but will this case break them? Will the true nature of their relationship be revealed to their superiors and will they live to reveal their true feelings to each other?

The Ultimate Character Representation winner is “Sins of the Father” written by MHaines. This short story was selected from among the entries as most true to the characters as represented on the show. Summary: Mulder is trapped in an underground boxcar as Cancer Man attempts to burn him alive after Mulder discovers the bodies of human test subjects.

The Most Likely to be a Chris Carter Episode is “Waiting for a Miracle” by Dana Hale. This piece asks the question: What is Scully to do when she finds a new chip implanted in her neck?

The Most Original Fanfic winner is “Triangle, Part Deux” by Dr. Fox. This light-hearted story tells what happens when The Lone Gunmen take Scully to Austria to look for Mulder, who has apparently time traveled again. This time, instead of a link to the Wizard of Oz, the Sound of Music makes an appearance.

The yearly fanfic contest sponsored by XFiles Universe has grown since it’s beginning in 2009. Now instead of entries being chosen in a short span of time, months are required for the judges to read all of the entries and whittle them down to the finalists. Entries come from around the world. Winners receive a script from the series.

XFU has a separate fanfic page located at www.xfilesuniverse.com/fanfic and fanfic may also be read at the forum: www.xfilesuniverse.com/forum.  Please note that ratings are placed on fanfic works for a reason, and ratings range from G to Mature.

Perusing YouTube always lets me indulge in X-Files nostalgia… and this Christmas is no exception.  Here are some holiday videos that celebrate all that is great about X-Files, Mulder, and Scully, meshed with a Christmas theme.

Enjoy!

May 13th brought a conclusion to the XFU ReWatch endeavor. Beginning with the Pilot episode of The X-Files, forum members have watched every episode in order until season nine’s “The Truth.”  We’ve enjoyed seeing Mulder and Scully meet for the first time, to falling in love, all while searching for the truth.  While in the chatroom we’ve laughed, critiqued, and re-imagined the episodes while watching together.

And now, the ReWatch endeavor is getting a ReBoot. X-Files fans can gather in the chatroom at the same time (8:00 pm, Central, Sunday evenings) and watch episodes focused around a theme.

For May 14-20, the theme is “Funny Fan Favorites” and we will watch “Jose Chung’s From Outer Space” and “Bad Blood.”

For May 21-27, the theme is “Baseball” and we will rewatch “Home” and “The Unnatural.” Ok, yes…it’s a bit of a leap to associate “Home” with baseball, but it is there!

For May 28 – June 3, the theme is “Memorial Day” and we will watch “Beyond the Sea” and “Hollywood AD”.

Join us in the forums to vote for your choice of future themes and episodes.  And Join us on Sunday nights in the Chatroom!

The X-Files was featured on the FOX Anniversary Special.  David Duchovny (Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Scully), and Chris Carter were featured.  Watch the youtube clip to see it!

Those who tuned in were treated to seeing X-Files on Sunday night again, if ever so briefly.

Gillian Anderson attended the Titanic Memorial Gardens ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.  The memorial garden features the names of more than 1,500 victims of the disaster etched in bronze.

Reportedly, Anderson (The X-Files) is in Belfast in preparation for filming the BBC drama “The Fall,” which will air on BBC Two.  Anderson plays a detective brought in to solve a serial murder spree.

Fans can bid on a set visit for “The Fall” and watch the filming of the series.  The set visit may take place either May 21, 22, or 23.  Proceeds go to Neurofibromatosis, Inc.  Check out the auction here.

Whetting our appetites for more, FOX  has released photos from the anniversary special that will air April 22.  As always, David Duchovny and Chris Carter look wonderful.  The two, along with Gillian Anderson, will appear on the special.

Anderson and Duchovny together again on FOX is almost a dream come true. Instead of an anniversary special though, XFU would love to see Duchovny and Anderson together appearing as Mulder and Scully.

Come on FOX, give us a greenlight!
