Most people involved in the X-Files fandom have a life that may seem a little mundane.  XFilesnews.com’s editor-in-chief is the exception to the rule. Avi Quijada is a student at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. As part of her thesis work, she is creating an independently made film entitled Just Like Her. And Mark Snow, well-known as the composer of The X-Files scores, is composing the music for her film.

Mark Snow got involved in Avi’s project because of his association with the XFilesNews.com. Avi said, “I presented him with the project and he was pretty keen on it, so he agreed to be part of it.”  Once the film is completed, it will compete for admittance at festivals such as Sundance and Tribeca, then into distribution.

Thesis films typically cost $30,000-$65,000 to make. Naturally a college student must secure funding. Donations for the film can be made through the movie website at http://www.justlikeher-themovie.com/index.html.  Any donation amount is appreciated. After the film in completed, it will compete for admittance into film festivals such as the world-famous Sundance or Tribeca, then go into distribution.  After graduation Avi hopes to join the ranks of famous AFI graduates Frank Spotnitz, John Shiban, and Bob Mandel.

Just Like Her is the emotional story of Audrey, a young woman who return home during the Thanksgiving holidays four years after her mother committed suicide. She must confront her inner demons, resulting in a physical and emotional battle involving the entire family.
