Female First selected The Lone Gunmen series as #3 in the Top Ten List of Scifi Spin-Offs.  Heading the list is Caprica and the Star Trek spin-offs of The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and Enterprise.

The Lone Gunmen was the spin-off from The X-Files and of course featured fan favorites Frohike, Langely, and Byers.   The techno-geeks assisted Agent Mulder on numerous occasions throughout the series and appeared in 38 episodes of The X-Files, including the hated episode that killed them and the final episode as ghosts.  They had a history with Mulder dating well before the events of the pilot episode.

The Lone Gunmen starred Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood, and Dean Haglund, and co-starred Stephen Snedden and Zuleikha Robinson as Jimmy Bond and Yves Harlow.  The series lasted one season.  A notable episode is the pilot, when the trio help avert the crash of an airliner into the World Trade Center.

I Want to Believe alum Amanda Peet and XFiles guest star Jack Black are starring in Gulliver’s Travels, which releases in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day.  Jack Black portrays Lemuel Gulliver, who ends up in Lilliput instead of Bermuda.  Amanda Peet is Darcy Silverman, a travel editor who eventually joins Gulliver in Lilliput.

Now, FOX – how about pairing David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in X-Files 3?

X-Files’ Gillian Anderson was named Honorary Associate of The London Film School at the annual graduation ceremony at the National Gallery.  LFS chairman and Associate Mike Leigh and director Ben Gibson presented the awards.

Gillian Anderson and Director Jack Gold, who is also being honored, will then award Associateships to 68 graduates of the School’s MA Filmmaking, MA Screenwriting and Fast Forward programs.  Gillian said, “I certainly do not feel as if my work thus far has warranted this honor but I can promise that I will do my very best to live up to it in the years ahead.”

We at XFilesUniverse.com feel that an X-Files 3 movie would be a perfect way to add to Ms. Anderson’s body of work.  In addition, Gillian Anderson is set to broadcast on PBS with “Any Human Heart” in February.  She will also appear as Elizabeth in “Moby Dick,” “The Crimson Petal and the White,” and “Johnny English 2.”

The wait for LAX-Files is finally at an end!  After 26 months of work by author Erica Fraga, the book is published and ready for purchase.

Fraga told XFilesUniverse.com, ”The book is filled with fantastic behind the scenes stories; some of them have never been heard before.  Laurie Holden told me a story about kissing Nic Lea; Tom Braidwood talked about Gillian in a locked car; Mitch Pileggi had a great story about the bathtub scene from Hollywood A.D.  You’ll have to buy the book for the juicy details!”

The creation of the book was far from easy.  ”My friends and I were almost attacked by a dog on a location hunt for Alpha,” Fraga reminisces.  “Trying to find Karen’s House was an adventure for my companions and I.  After driving through the winding roads of Calabasas, we arrived at a dead end street in a heavily wooded residential area.  At first, we could not find Karen’s house.  We had a general idea of where it was after reviewing the DVD’s and we knew the street it was on.  After several passes – and inquisitive stares from the locals – we found the house, tucked away down a private road.  Taking the correct action, we decided not to trespass and began making dinner plans.  Luckily we stayed in the car because at that very moment, a neighbor’s dog – a very angry neighbor’s dog – ran out of the neighbor’s yard and tried to jump into my half open window.”

A few teasers are offered by Fraga.  One comes from David Duchovny, “”Gillian is not an athlete, so it wasn’t like I could play one on one with her.”  Another is from a crew member during season six of the series.  “The crew was shooting in Palmdale or Lancaster for Dreamland and the entire crew witnessed a UFO streaming across the sky about 100 feet above the ground, 50 feet from the crew, travelling horizontally, and then disappeared. They never found out if it was real or just the Special Effects Department just proving how good …they really are.”

Another is from Dean Haglund, commenting on The Lone Gunmen, ““You know that friend you have, who can always fix your computer, and wire up your home theater, but is a little odd and always calls to see what you are doing, but you are always ‘busy’ or just heading out. And you never tell him to stop calling because you know one day you are going to update to Blu-ray and will nee…d him to come over and hook it up, so you just put up with it? Yeah… we’re that guy.”

This is a fan-made book dedicated to the memory of the late and great television director, Kim Manners.  Kim is known for his prolific and emotionally captivating work on Booker, 21 Jump St., Brisco County Jr, Simon and Simon, The X-Files, and Supernatural.  All of the books profits will go to the American Cancer Society, the charity of the Manner’s Family choosing.

Fans can purchase the book on Createspace.com or Amazon.com.  If you are in California, please consider ordering from Createspaces.com instead of Amazon, as the “cut” is smaller and therefore more money can go to the American Cancer Society.
