Have you checked out the photo gallery on the main page? Take a few minutes and peak down to the bottom right side. See where it says, “XFU Photo Gallery”… click on it.
Then you have three options: Mulder/David Duchovny, Scully/Gillian Anderson, or XFiles photos. Once you click on the choice you want, then you can choose “slideshow” and up will pop a beautiful showing of all of the photos in the gallery.
Start date is June 21. Yes, that is right, that is yesterday! You have through Sunday to watch Pilot and Deep Throat. Imagine, each week you will see Mulder and Scully solving the unsolvable and you will see it with your phile friends!
Each week you can look in the “Seasons and Films” section of the forum for what we are watching. If you want to join, there will also be a time posted when people have the opportunity to watch together in the chatroom, just like we used to do on the old XFU.
After watching, please go to the episode forum to post your comments, observations, and thoughts.
Robert Patrick fans rejoice: A major overhaul of Edgar Floats has resulted in the entire cast being let go except for Robert Patrick. Seemingly, Patrick’s scenes stole the show, which comes as no surprise to those familiar with his acting.
Patrick is portraying a bail bondman whose son-in-law, a former police psychologist, comes to work for him as a bounty hunter. Six episodes have been ordered by ABC and are currently being written.
The look will be adjusted slightly in upcoming days, but we are pleased with the functionality of the chatroom. No-flood does not appear to be a problem, links post without problems, and we had seven people discussing XFiles at one point during the afternoon. There is a link on the forums page and on the main page.
If you have not joined XFU yet, this is the perfect time!
As announced in May, the XFU Annual Fanfic Contest is ongoing. Posted in the forums is last year’s winner and the guidelines for this year’s contest. Please note: All fanfic entries must be resubmitted to email@example.com
The deadline for entry is July 31.
Categories for fanfics are
1. Relationships: Any Characters from the Series
And we do mean any character combinations; the judges will be looking into the possibility even probability of the said relationship. How true you have remained to the characters in question, and the situation you have placed them in. As well as their response to this.
2. Case file
Would this have made a good episode? will be the first question on the judges’ mind, closely followed by would it even be remotely possible within the realms of science?
3. Alternative universe
Give Mulder and Scully kids, marry them, split them up, give William twelve toes and paranormal powers. Here you can do what you like. The judges are looking for a good story, something along the lines of what Chris would come up with to taunt us / please us (Triangle is a good example). If the way out is not your thing, give a character in the series a new/extended personality.
This category, if sufficient entries are received, will be split.
4. Second Language Fic
This Category is open to everyone who does not have English as a maiden language, here the judges will look for storyline, Spelling and Grammar will to some extend be overlooked, but not completely dismissed, how well the story reads will be taken into consideration.
In a recent interview, Vince Gilligan discussed the “Lone Gunmen” and the possibility of having X-Files stars’ on his show, “Breaking Bad.”
When asked if he could see a second season of “Lone Gunmen” in comic book form, Gilligan replied, “Sure, absolutely. Why not? That’d be wonderful. [The characters] are gone officially, they died in that episode that ran on “The X-Files,” but I kind of always hated that we killed them off. In my mind, they’re still alive. I love those characters. I love how enthusiastic they were about saving the world. It was infectious, that enthusiasm, and that decentness and that innate sense of goodness those guys had. I miss that show a lot. I love “Breaking Bad”– it’s the best job I’ve ever had – but “X-Files” and “Lone Gunmen” were close seconds and I wish “Lone Gunmen” had gone a little longer.
Vince, we like to picture the Lone Gunmen alive and well, too. Maybe in XFiles 3 we can see just that. We live in hope.
Mark your calendars and put in your request to Netflix: The Joneses is coming to video in less than two months. Both will feature deleted scenes. The Joneses Blu-ray Disc and DVD will be available for the suggested retail prices of $24.99 U.S. and $22.98 U.S., respectively.
The movie has excellent reviews. “Sharp, timely and very funny” (Karen Durbin, ELLE), and called “fresh, scintillating and downright terrific” (New York Observer), it’s a satire about consumerism. David Duchovny portrays Steve Jones, the father in a family that sells ” a lifestyle, an attitude” for a consortium of manufacturers.
The Joneses also stars Demi Moore, Amber Heard, Gary Cole, Glenne Headly, Ben Hollingsworth, Lauren Hutton, Chris Williams, and was directed by Derrick Borte. It had a US gross of $1,439,105.
This weekend we are launching XFiles Universe (XFUn)! You will notice that we are still working on the site. A chatroom will soon be available as will our Fanfic Universe. The link to the forums is on the left. Take a minute to check out our growing photo gallery. I think you’ll love it.
The forums are working but the look is not finished; You will see slight changes, like color or photos added over the next few days but your messages will not change. We are still working on posting videos, but you are able to post photos. Please use the XFUn Community topic to post suggestions or things that may not be working as planned. We have tested but realize that a few issues may still arise before it is perfect. However, you can still post about David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mulder, Scully, and the rest of your favorite XFiles characters, stars, and plots.
Soon we will have one log-in for the main page that is the same for the forums, so for now you can read the main page only.
Once everything is complete, you will enjoy XFUn stability for years to come. I know that we will all remember XFilesUltimate with fondness, but XFilesUniverse will be bigger, better, and will last for years!
We are so glad you are here!
