This is a little review/ me asking questions. It's more of me rambling than writing a review.

Any episode that begins with Mulder narrating is going to be good, and in my opinion it was. It lacked in certain areas but overall was a solid episode.
The major noticeable change about these coming episodes is how much narrative they’re trying to stick in, it works in this case with a two part but I’m a little concerned for some of the next episodes. Mulder was slightly too skeptical in my opinion, we are aware of the confusion in Mulder and Scully’s beliefs through what with seen in the ‘Redux’ episodes. I don’t think we need an extreme Mulder to get the point across, I assume this is for ‘filling in’ the casual fans. I think the public debate would have been enough recapping on his values. Scully on the other hand was refreshing to watch. I really enjoy her role in this episode because she casually falls into it, the only nuisance is that you know Scully will somehow forget or define an explanation for what she saw. I found it pleasantly nice that although Mulder’s friends and family are normally skeptical in his beliefs, they try to encourage him in this episode. With that in mind, maybe I’m being over critical with Mulder’s attitude as it allows for character building.
Alex Krycek, I don’t know what to say at the moment, although I’ve seen plenty of him I can’t seem to understand his overall motives. As I understand he tries to fight the ‘colonist war’, a plan joining both government and alien race; ‘colonist’, in an attempt to colonize the world’s population. This is all well and good but what are his other driven motives? To seek the truth is a little vague for me, are there any other motives for this character? I feel I’ve missed something with his story.
The alien bounty hunters are pretty awesome, a nice way of playing on the anxieties of paranoia. Being shape shifters makes us question every action in the episode.
Correct me if I’m wrong but is this not the first ‘real’ engagement with the Syndicate. I’m sure this is the first time we actually relate with them, normally they are shady characters but this one presented them in a different light. We understand them and their motives a little more.
I feel that Veronica Cartwright plays a challenging role, one which she pulls off. I must question however the Emmy she received, I’m not entirely sure it’s emmy worthy.
It’s a light overview of my thoughts on the episode, overall I really enjoyed the episode. I don’t like giving out of five so I’ll give the episode 7 out of 10. I’m looking to write a little review/round up on future episodes, i've been busy finishing university this week. That means i'm off til September now watching and writing reviews on X-FIles. ahaa
