Super-Soldier Inconsistensy?

There's just one thing about them I don't understand and find illogical. They bleed when shot and Knowle Rohrer was once even decapitated... but their hands can cut through steel without any damage? I don't understand, do they have some kind of "Superman mode on/off" or what? This is something that has been irking me for quite a while.

That is a great question! There could be a tome written on the Super Soldiers alone ... Sometimes their "story" seemed like something Carter made up as he went along. Other times it seemed like it was well constructed.

There have been years when I thought I had a handle on the Soldiers, but when I get away from the mytharc my understanding starts unraveling like old yarn...

Boy, do I agree with this. Scratch too hard at the topic and super soliders start coming off as being, well, more silly than super.

I think their skills and abilities just happened to be whatever suited the plot best on any particular day.
