OUR THANKS... go to Salome who drives the Musings of an X Phile facebook page. She started driving this effort early Sunday morning and perhaps as a result 22 people signed the petish in one day. Since April 9 the total sigs has grown by an even 30 - so Sunday's spike is ... interesting.

One marketing (self-proclaimed) maven I met claimed Industry types won't bat an eye unless we approach the 10,000 mark. But who really knows - anything's possible. Maybe we should try "driving" this petish as Salome did this Sat April 23.... Food for thought... See if the numbers spike as a result?

I suspect there are a still a lot of people who haven't seen the petition. But the bigger issue is that there are even more people who don't bother with petitions at all. :( I mean, the X-Files 3 in 2012 page has 5,500+ people on it. If all those people signed we'd be half-way there. But I think clickin "Like" is about as far as most people are willing to go.

I'm still optimistic, though!! I think we should show whatever support we can in whatever way we can. Petitions, pages, blogs... whatever gets the point across.

I agree, Salome - anything anyone can do to demonstrate there's huge interest can only help... OT, but I still want to know how his page grew to 5500 in just over 12 months, and, why he / we can't get his "base" to just sign the petition. Laura (danascully1988 who started the petition) posts requests for people to sign every so often, and maybe 10 new sigs appear... Baffling! (Kind of like a depressing X-File... :( )

Hey, Agent Spooky .... There's been a lot of promos but more can only be more, right? We know Adam Boraso's X Files 3 in 2012 page has 5600 members; do you remember the name of your 3K + site? You are more than welcome to post the link to the petition on their wall or I can if you'd prefer... I have come to a combo of unfortunate conclusions:

 First, people are either extraordinarily lazy or Fearful of Petition Police and just won't sign petitions, Even when we tell them they can sign "anonymous"... I think they freeze when they're asked to supply an email which I don't thing GoPetition even validates.

Second, only XFilesNews.com seems to have any real power to sway people, in large part because they've been around a while and (according to their editors) they have developed a business relationship with FOX execs, something Adam also has NOT been able to do..

PM me if you have any ideas... 2 heads are always better than one..... I passed "frustrated" about 2 months back.. 

NOW HEAR THIS.... 1,002 as of 04.25.11, 11:00 pm edt....
We'd hoped to cross this threshold by last New Years Day... But we crossed it! On to our next thousand..... (Almost to the day, it took 7 months to hit 1,000; color me....flummoxed!). Maybe this year's 10,000+ photos are last year's petition...?

Wow. That stinks on all counts, especially since you don't have to use your real life name and you can use a back up email account. Maybe someone can try to get onto XFN somehow...

Congrats on crossing the 1000th signature mark.

Agent Spooky- I copied my exchange off XFN's Facebook Wall (XF3 Army); I think the translation is "only their way will be effective." FYI:

Me (04.29)
Last Sept, Laura Logan started an XF3 Petition at this link:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/x-f ... /sign.html
Unless the number of signatures approaches the 10k mark this won't have any legs. In the event that it continues to grow, feel free to add it to the XF3 arsenal for XF3. (Every so often the number spikes but there's literally no rhyme or reason. Specific pleas on numerous FB sites have been fruitless, yet the numbers increase seemingly by magic when least expected.

XF3 Army: Believe in the Future It's been our experience that the signatures and letters are not as effective (which is why we did not include a signature campaign in our efforts). However, any noise for XF3 is good noise and we support fan efforts outside of our campaign. We still highly recommend fans take part in the 10,013 Photos for a Green Light, in addition to their other efforts!

Me:  I agree! I'm just suggesting that since this is already in existence, should it grow to something substantial, just include it.... This petition got underway via the 2nd iteration of the now defunct Ultimate (Advil helps), but it's already there, chugging along....

hey Guy's, just thought i'd drop in to anounce we have 1013 signature's LOL

thank you for keeping these guy's updated Skulder :)

in regard's to XFN, i have a blog on there regarding the petition and have got a few of the editor's from XFN on my FB page, i've asked before to no avail :( if they could publicly announce the petition im sure the number's would soar.
im working on this right now and after month's of trying to get people to sign and hitting the 1000 mark i emailed the petition to several FOX addresses including directly to FOX Film. FOX all Access already knows of the petition and so far refuse to be involved :( im trying my hardest to drum up signature's and it's slow going but we're getting there 1000 is a significant number, i'm hoping it will make a difference. sorry i've not been around much and i'll try to keep you all up to date with the email's etc :) thank you to all who have signed already :).

This is what i don't understand AS i just posted on adam's page, my page and my group page and we've gone to 1017. I've went on Big light and created a discussion there too and i mailed Frank with a plea for help LOL i've posted this everywhere i can think of and it's still slow, i thought people would have jumped at the chance to make XF3 happen, the fact they can do it without giving their name frustrates me even more. I'm working my butt off to try and get the petition out there and have even considered paying for a sponsor but what is the point when people are not willing to sign :( We are so close here and every little helps. I'm not giving up....no.....as i once heard.....Never give up on a miracle LOL i did a charity XF All Thing's watch with Salome the other night, 5 people turned up so i got them to sign :) i've offered to help with the next one to get people in and Also to sign the petition hopefuly. The X-Files 3 mission has become my daily *task* lol i'm going to see about setting up a website for it right now. i'm going to speak to Adam and see if i can't not get him to get people to sign, 1000 is a long way of 5500 and i know his page grows every day, short of posting everyday i don't know what else to do. The reason behind posting every so often was because not everone check's the page every day so i was hoping to catch everyone. I will follow up with what i decide, wether it's worth creating XF3 petition's very own website but first im off to post the link everywhere to see how many signature's it get's in :)

Danascully1988 - if you read thru all the posts and comments on the XF3 Army FB page which represents XFilesNews - they have ZERO interest in the petition.

Yet they feel certain that their traveling toy plus receipt of 10,013 photos is what FOX Studio Execs will evaluate for a final decision re a greenlight.

So this either means:

1- FOX has MADATED receipt of these 10K photos to prove there are at least 10K people planing to buy movie tickets...
....OR....
2- FOX already knows YES there will be an XF3, and are asking XFN to whip everyone into a frenzy to create "buzz."  They need assurance of sustained excitement leading up the movie's release, and want to lead the "fans" to believe their "devotion" via the photo campaign was the magic ingredient that pushed the green light!

If I were a betting woman - I'd bet on option 2.

XFN keeps saying "they're" responsible for getting BOTH of the other XF films made.  A neat trick since I don't think XFN was around in 1997 when Movie #1 was filmed.  If I thought it mattered I'd say "prove it!"

As for Movie #2, I wasn't tracking the progress of that movie's journey.  Did XFN provide the final push with Frankenbear to get it made?  Does it matter?  The FOX marketing gurus miscalculated a good (read - "solo") release date and the movie fell flat.

But I do know - the results are still out on You Tube - there was what seemed like a massive XF3 vid campaign in 2009 courtesy of XFN - WHICH WENT NOWHERE!

So now in 2011, here we go again.  Something I made plain in a question to XFN on facebook and got a "PR reply" to (see earlier post here.)

What I'm trying to say is, understand that there is some DEAL that currently exists between XFN and FOX.

Before you or anyone wastes a significant amount of ADDITIONAL time on this petition, realize that
1- it just never picked up steam, and probably won't AND
2- FOX now welcomes XFN who refuses to even SUPPORT the petition.  Remember the rules of logic?  If XFN won't support the petition, neither will FOX.

This means there's more to the facebook posts and XFN posts than they want to reveal.

This may simply be another one of FOX's many manipulations.

My advice?  BUY a disposable camera, get your friends to do the same, and take a bunch of X-Files related pics.  Send them to XFN and see what happens.  If at the same time the petition continues to inch along, great.

They've made it clear - XFN has NO interest in adding a petition - even with a respectable number of sigs - to the "package" they'll be "presenting to FOX" - "On the FOX lot" -  in August.

You yourself don't have to be in the picture, it's anything XF related. Memorabilia, posters, random Xs in the real world... anything's fair game! I'm thinking of involving my doggies somehow. :)

Salome's right - FOX doesn't need our faces. Just our additional effort.

Hey! Take pictures of screen caps of the petition - all however many pages! Or blondes you see in public with dazzling smiles and, well, teeth - that'll get their attention! Say the photo reminded you of the human form Exley took in the Unnatural. (Plus - FOX News only hires blondes with assets like big teeth.... So that'll get someone's attention!)

Agent Skulder wrote: Danascully1988 - if you read thru all the posts and comments on the XF3 Army FB page which represents XFilesNews - they have ZERO interest in the petition.

TBH i think XFN is just being funny, The petition started before any 10,013 picture Campaign was announced, perhaps they are just saying this because they didn't start the petition i don't know?
NO 1 campaign can claim THEY pushed FOX to release any movie, im sure i read it somewhere IWTB was announced MONTH'S after their campaign.

2. I don't WANT XFN to take the petition to FOX, that was never my intention, i just asked them to drum up some support via advertising it. If they plan on getting 10,013 picture's then there's 10,000 signature's No?
XFN seems to display hostility toward's the petition from day 1, even so much as commenting on the way i typed up a post on the FB page.

3. Just because they say FOX doesn't want a petition does not mean FOX doesn't want a petition. If they welcome & support EVERY campaign out there then they sure ain't supporting mine or anyone else's campaign i've seen as XFN is ll about XFN.

i will not give up on the Petition, i didn't start it to back out on a suggestion that FOX will not be interested. I will not be taking photo's of myself to post to FOX, 10,013 picture's does not mean 10,013 people are willing to go to see the movie. Now i have a passion for The X-File's as do all here, i have a passion for getting he X-File's 3 on screen. If i planned to do it all through XFN i would have checked with them before i created it, If FOX has no interest in a petition then what is the harm of posting the link on their website to drum up some signatures? the answer is NONE. i have nothing against XFN or any other campaign's for the X-File's 3.

what's 10,013 picture's compared to 1000 or even 5000 signature's with personally written comment's. I may not be hand delivering the petition to FOX or have any deal with FOX but to me i think ruling out the petition due to 1 person's word is slightly silly. I will drum up the signature's even if i have to travel the county knocking on door's. and TBH i think FOX favoring 1 campaign over however many there are out there is wrong. It should be a Joint effort on behalf of ALL campaign's 1 is not better than the others.

i personally think this is unfair, if people feel like their being pushed they're not going to do anything, the petition gathered enough signature's per month for my liking, some people don't want to sign and if they are being told that FOX is not interested then why would they, FOX has not said they won't support it, XFN said they found it to be least effective, not totally useless but that is their view or opinion.

I feel that XFN's "position" regarding driving the XF3 effort is unfair. We're on the same side here. I'm just saying that if XFN is really the only influential group re swaying the FOX decision, then I'm at a loss what more we're supposed to do regarding the petition.

There's been lots of attention here - at one point it was on different threads - you and I both post notices on Adam's site.... I was blown away when I again brought the petition to XFN's attention on THEIR wall and they seemed to respond "No-no, we've been successful before so we're going to focus on the photo campaign.". Almost like they were telling me not to play in their sandbox.

Had they at least been encouraging re the petition - regardless whether you present it or XFN presents it - I'd have an entirely different feeling about it. And the question remains - what can we do that we haven't done already to encourage signatures?

:booby LOL the only thing i can think of is well nothing really, i cannot think of anything more to be done, it's published on FB all the time. Like i said the word was from XFN that FOX didn't want a petition and yes they do appear very s***ty about us posting on their page etc. if they posted the link on XFN then to be honest they really aren't putting them self's out are they? It's a 2 minute job, they think it will fail, so there is no threat to their campaign at all! XFN seem to think they are *the* only campaign that matter's just because they have FOX taling with them, well im sorry im 23 and live in Scotland LOL i don't wanna be the one to seem like i moaaning but just because FOX is on their campaign does not mean the petition will flop, it doesn't mean they have *pushed* FOx into another Movie. i do agree though that FOX are pain's in regards to *THE GREEN LIGHT* with any film lol. hey could be sitting on the green light, or could even green light it BEFORE August when XFN goes there, that does not mean to say XFN PUSHED FOX to it.

EVERY Campaign should Pull together NOT put it down because THEY think it's ineffective. I have just checked FB page for XFN, they have 1000 odd follower's. Are these the only followers from their website? if so, how are they going to hit 10,000 picutre's?

GOOD ONE!  I didn't even notice that.  Thou from personal experience (this a fact not a slam) when I've tried posting there I CANNOT, and when I write XFN directly for help, I NEVER get any type of reply.  I've only done this twice since Dec and I'm O for 2.  That could be why they've only got a thousand members and I'll bet most are from when they first opened and were more of a forum.  Essentially they're news - that's it.

Here are some ideas...

I've got to think there's a better way to attract petition attention.  But then it's illogical (or a fib) that only XFN seems to know THE person to talk to at FOX...  No way José!  (Unless there's a romantic attachment...)

Places we can start to "advertise" or comment include:
- Facebook - XFiles pages
- Facebook - Entertainment pages
- Blogs      - XFiles or Movie related

Facebook:
1- maybe we should first make a list (in a separate thread here in the site) of ALL the XF related facebook pages.  Then at least we can split them and hit each page each week posting:
A) ON THEIR WALL and
B) AS A COMMENT to one of the page owner's posts.
C) If we can message the page owner, ask them to include the Petition Link as one of their Likes on the side rail.  I'm not even sure Universe has this.

FACEBOOK FACT:  people who "like" a page and read the page's status updates in their own newsfeeds - not the page's Wall -  ONLY see what the owner posts and NEVER see what members post.
. (Did you know this?  One of the many f'd up things FB developers did.)

Take all the great posts you've left on Adam's wall.  I read them, because I usually click on the page's title to see what I may be missing.  NO ONE THAT I'VE TALKED TO BOTHERS TO DO THIS.

So -  The only people who READ YOUR PETITION POSTS, are You (on your own update page with the link to Adam embedded) and anyone - member or not - who clicks on the TITLE of Adam's page to see his entire Wall -  not just what shows up on their newsfeed page.  So here you're thinking "I posted! & now the signers will come."  Not if they don't see the post! 

But as simple as FB is, most people don't understand the entire wall is NOT what is displayed if all they read are "status updates" (in the newsfeed).

If this is unclear tell me and I'll try again in PMs...  But I'll bet this is why most of the non-owner, member posts NEVER GET READ.

COMMENTS:  anytime we jump in and add our comment on a FB owner's post, that comment stays attached to the post.  So anyone who bothers opening the comments (it's an extra click after all) WILL see our comment with the Petition Link.

This is why it may benefit us to "comment" all over the place.  Often, but NOT as often as spam.

Then - let's list all media related Facebook pages since many get lots of viewers (hits).  I'm thinking the US and UK TV pages like Access Hollywood, but also TMZ, PerezHilton.... They're trashy BUT they gets tons of views.  And their readers LOVE leaving their names all over the place.  So chances are they'll sign a petition.

Same as above - the goal is to post on their Wall but ALSO to add comments to page owner's posts where remotely applicable.

NOTE 1:  We should be sure to include the entire petition signing LINK in EACH POST OR COMMENT.  Why?  People can't be expected to dig for it - so keep it online in an easy to find file and copy/paste like crazy.  Even posts on Adam's wall NEED the link with each post or comment.

NOTE 2: Don't bother with FoxAllAccess.  They got mad when our links showed up too often, plus they lie and frequently post unvetted stories.  I caught them in 2 lies - of course they deleted my comments but more importantly deleted their inaccurate news.  So don't waste energy there.

Finally - If there are any XFiles related BLOGS, either contact the blogger and ask if they'll post a link to the Petition, or again Comment on the blog and find a way to ask folks to sign the Petition.

Let me know what you think....

And BTW the You is for EVERYONE reading this....

LOl the exact number on XFN FB page is 1,777. it does seem to me their campaign to them is the only one that matter's to them. which is not suporting nor welcoming every campaign like they say. but any enough about them.

I've been to big Light Production's page and started a discussion there, which has brought us up to 1023, i also maail bagged them to see if they could post it to drum up some publicity there. i also posted the link on EVERY X-File realated FB page and DD's fb page lol.

I WILL not listen to FOX is not interested in a petition because there is NO proof of this and i'll do my hardest to make this work. I'd like to see how XFN get's on with the 10,013 picture campaign but at the end of the day in 4 or 5 month's time they have to be ready to present the promised picture's to FOX, many people will not be up for it and if the fall below that target and the petition is still growing daily, with signature's that are done then maybe it still has a chance LOL im gonna ask adam to post the link and im gonna go badger some people LOL.

every signature make's a difference.I just now am not aiming for 10,000 but i will regularly email FOX personally and update them with the petition count LOL.hopefuly oncce the X-File's watch event's get going by legendary woman i will have more people to post the link too :) i'll let you guy's know about that when i know more :)

anyway for now, i'll buzz of and be that annoying bee from FTF LOL but i will be back tomorrow lol

That's pretty much where I'm at too, Agent Skulder. We're all on the same side, and we all want the same thing. That's how I view it too. The whole arrogance -- for lack of a better way of putting it -- of their attitude, has turned me somewhat sour towards them. And it's a shame too :(.

As for the pic, that's good :). I'll have to go and find my copy of the FTF book I have somewhere... and maybe I can see if my younger cousin can take a pic of it.

Edit: Added the petition to my sig here if you guys don't mind :).

Gee - I wonder if we succeed in getting Trump bounced from driving the Indy 500 Pace Car at the 100th race, I can get those followers (16K and counting) to sign the petition! (I don't follow Indy, but Trump is pissing on an important - to racing fans - tradition.). (http://www.facebook.com/BumpTrump)

BTW - currently there's NO confirmation that ANY of Duchovny's FB pages are his. Be wary of the poster (or poser on Adam's page who posted the newest DD link - yea there's followers, but there are also followers on the other 7 or so DD FB pages.
