BTW - tell your friend their sig may have brought us to the 900 mark!

Agent Skulder wrote:Hey, Agent Spooky .... There's been a lot of promos but more can only be more, right? We know Adam Boraso's X Files 3 in 2012 page has 5600 members; do you remember the name of your 3K + site? You are more than welcome to post the link to the petition on their wall or I can if you'd prefer... I have come to a combo of unfortunate conclusions:
First, people are either extraordinarily lazy or Fearful of Petition Police and just won't sign petitions, Even when we tell them they can sign "anonymous"... I think they freeze when they're asked to supply an email which I don't thing GoPetition even validates.
Second, only XFilesNews.com seems to have any real power to sway people, in large part because they've been around a while and (according to their editors) they have developed a business relationship with FOX execs, something Adam also has NOT been able to do..
PM me if you have any ideas... 2 heads are always better than one..... I passed "frustrated" about 2 months back..

Agent Skulder wrote:I agree, Salome - anything anyone can do to demonstrate there's huge interest can only help... OT, but I still want to know how his page grew to 5500 in just over 12 months, and, why he / we can't get his "base" to just sign the petition. Laura (danascully1988 who started the petition) posts requests for people to sign every so often, and maybe 10 new sigs appear... Baffling! (Kind of like a depressing X-File...)

Agent Skulder wrote: Danascully1988 - if you read thru all the posts and comments on the XF3 Army FB page which represents XFilesNews - they have ZERO interest in the petition.
Yet they feel certain that their traveling toy plus receipt of 10,013 photos is what FOX Studio Execs will evaluate for a final decision re a greenlight.
So this either means:
1- FOX has MADATED receipt of these 10K photos to prove there are at least 10K people planing to buy movie tickets...
....OR....
2- FOX already knows YES there will be an XF3, and are asking XFN to whip everyone into a frenzy to create "buzz." They need assurance of sustained excitement leading up the movie's release, and want to lead the "fans" to believe their "devotion" via the photo campaign was the magic ingredient that pushed the green light!
If I were a betting woman - I'd bet on option 2.
XFN keeps saying "they're" responsible for getting BOTH of the other XF films made. A neat trick since I don't think XFN was around in 1997 when Movie #1 was filmed. If I thought it mattered I'd say "prove it!"
As for Movie #2, I wasn't tracking the progress of that movie's journey. Did XFN provide the final push with Frankenbear to get it made? Does it matter? The FOX marketing gurus miscalculated a good (read - "solo") release date and the movie fell flat.
But I do know - the results are still out on You Tube - there was what seemed like a massive XF3 vid campaign in 2009 courtesy of XFN - WHICH WENT NOWHERE!
So now in 2011, here we go again. Something I made plain in a question to XFN on facebook and got a "PR reply" to (see earlier post here.)
What I'm trying to say is, understand that there is some DEAL that currently exists between XFN and FOX.
Before you or anyone wastes a significant amount of ADDITIONAL time on this petition, realize that
1- it just never picked up steam, and probably won't AND
2- FOX now welcomes XFN who refuses to even SUPPORT the petition. Remember the rules of logic? If XFN won't support the petition, neither will FOX.
This means there's more to the facebook posts and XFN posts than they want to reveal.
This may simply be another one of FOX's many manipulations.
My advice? BUY a disposable camera, get your friends to do the same, and take a bunch of X-Files related pics. Send them to XFN and see what happens. If at the same time the petition continues to inch along, great.
They've made it clear - XFN has NO interest in adding a petition - even with a respectable number of sigs - to the "package" they'll be "presenting to FOX" - "On the FOX lot" - in August.

LOL the only thing i can think of is well nothing really, i cannot think of anything more to be done, it's published on FB all the time. Like i said the word was from XFN that FOX didn't want a petition and yes they do appear very s***ty about us posting on their page etc. if they posted the link on XFN then to be honest they really aren't putting them self's out are they? It's a 2 minute job, they think it will fail, so there is no threat to their campaign at all! XFN seem to think they are *the* only campaign that matter's just because they have FOX taling with them, well im sorry im 23 and live in Scotland LOL i don't wanna be the one to seem like i moaaning but just because FOX is on their campaign does not mean the petition will flop, it doesn't mean they have *pushed* FOx into another Movie. i do agree though that FOX are pain's in regards to *THE GREEN LIGHT* with any film lol. hey could be sitting on the green light, or could even green light it BEFORE August when XFN goes there, that does not mean to say XFN PUSHED FOX to it.
danascully1988 wrote:EVERY Campaign should Pull together NOT put it down because THEY think it's ineffective. I have just checked FB page for XFN, they have 1000 odd follower's. Are these the only followers from their website? if so, how are they going to hit 10,000 picutre's?

Agent Skulder wrote:I feel that XFN's "position" regarding driving the XF3 effort is unfair. We're on the same side here. I'm just saying that if XFN is really the only influential group re swaying the FOX decision, then I'm at a loss what more we're supposed to do regarding the petition.
There's been lots of attention here - at one point it was on different threads - you and I both post notices on Adam's site.... I was blown away when I again brought the petition to XFN's attention on THEIR wall and they seemed to respond "No-no, we've been successful before so we're going to focus on the photo campaign.". Almost like they were telling me not to play in their sandbox.
Had they at least been encouraging re the petition - regardless whether you present it or XFN presents it - I'd have an entirely different feeling about it. And the question remains - what can we do that we haven't done already to encourage signatures?
