When Lady Gaga was writing her latest smash “Born This Way,” she looked to an unexpected source of inspiration. While accepting her award for Best Pop Vocal Album at Sunday’s Grammys, the pop diva revealed that Whitney Houston played an important role in the song’s development. “I need to say thank you tonight to Whitney Houston,” explained a teary Gaga. “I wanted to thank Whitney because when I wrote ‘Born This Way,’ I imagined she was singing it because I wasn’t secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar. So Whitney I imagined you were singing ‘Born This Way’ when I wrote it. Thank you.”

Upon its digital release on Friday, “Born This Way” reached No. 1 on iTunes in every country in which it was released. The dance anthem is the lead single from Gaga’s third album of the same name, due May 23.

Agent Skulder, thank you for this interesting information.
The song does remind me a little of Madonna's-Express yourself but it's not too close, not even far, I'd say. I think Madonna will have to face it eventually that she is not as big as she used to be. She should take a longer break in my opinion. And I don't have anything against her but I just think her newer stuff was not so good as older. I love her 80's and 90's music.

Hey Skulder, about your question about Ribisi being the vocalist of the Said The Whale band, i don't think he is. The guy singing that song is named Ben Worcester, but he does look like Ribisi !

Lady GaGa is currently making big news between her Grammy performance and chart topping hit single. She also made news in 2001 with a small but memorable role on The Sopranos.

Per The NY Daily News, "Lady Gaga wanted fame and fortune so badly that she briefly joined the mob in 2001. A new clip has surfaced from season three of the "Sopranos" -- entitled "The Telltale Moozadell" -- in which a 15-year-old Gaga plays a small role as one of A.J.'s (Robert Iler) mischievous classmates.
Tony Sopranos' good-for-nothing son is seen racing his friends in the school pool as the "Paparazzi" singer, clad all in black with dark hair, and three of her friends hang out nearby and smoke cigarettes.
"Did you girls see me out there?" A.J. asks the group. "Yeah, it looked like you were cheating," Gaga says coyly.
